The Support & Delivery Centre is part of Health and Care Research Wales, funded by the Division for R&D within Welsh Government and it works in support of Welsh Government’s mission to promote, support and provide collective oversight of health and social care research in Wales.
The ‘One Wales’ Support and Delivery Service is a Wales-wide service which aims to provide seamless support to sponsors, researchers and the public. The service is delivered at a national level via the Support & Delivery Centre and national Specialty Leads, and at a local level via NHS research and development (R&D) departments.
The Support & Delivery Centre’s role is to facilitate the implementation of Welsh Government policies by providing centralised support functions and services for the health and social care research community in Wales, specifically, it provides ‘once for Wales’ support such as:
The integrated Communications, Engagement & Involvement Service is critical to Health and Care Research Wales’ success. It aims to support the involvement of the public in research and implement public involvement and engagement activities to enhance the research environment and research quality. It also provides a communications service to support the promotion of research, disseminate research achievements and demonstrate the impact of research on patient care.
The Senior Public Involvement Manager will lead the public involvement function in building and facilitating a diverse, representative community of the Welsh public involved in Health and Care Research Wales’ work and funded research. Through close collaboration with the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure, NHS organisations, local authorities and other stakeholders, they will ensure effective, meaningful public involvement in the development and delivery of research.
Working closely with the Head of Communications, Engagement and Involvement and the Senior Communications & Engagement Manager, they will also support the co-ordination and joint working across the integrated Communications, Engagement and Involvement service.
